We are the New England and North West Sub-branch of the NSW Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia.
The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is a volunteer run, not for profit, organisation that was established in 1945 and is comprised of branches of individual members who are passionate about children’s and young adult literature.
Founded in 1994, our sub-branch is dynamic and energetic, organising events around children’s literature in the New England and North West region, including tours by visiting authors and illustrators, collaborating with other local literary organisations such as the New England Writers’ Centre and the School of Arts at the University of New England, and running regular meetings at which presentations on children’s literature are held. If you’d like to join our sub-branch, simply turn up at one of our regular meetings (see Activities–Meetings page).
Our current committee office-holders are:
President: Sophie Masson
Treasurer: Lyndal Knuckey
Secretary: Sylvia Ransom
Schools liaison: Heather Fisher
