Following is the official announcement from CBC NSW:

The Children’s Book Council of Australia NSW Branch is pleased to announce that Heather Fisher has been chosen as the 2015 recipient of the LADY CUTLER AWARD. Dr Heather Fisher continues in a distinguished career in librarianship that has spanned many years. She has worked as a teacher, librarian, teacher-librarian and is a dedicated volunteer for CBCA NSW and other literary organisations. Her general philosophy is to read and discover all about children’s and young adult literature, working with passion and energy to promote this. At all times she has been an advocate for developing programs that connect children and young adults with the right books.

A committed and active member of the New England Sub-branch, Dr Fisher continues to contribute to the programs and development of children’s literature in this regional area.

The Lady Cutler Award commemorates the contribution to the Children’s Book Council NSW Branch by Lady Helen Cutler and is presented for Distinguished Service in the field of Australian Children’s Literature. Dr Fisher will receive this award in Sydney at the Lady Cutler Dinner to be held on the evening of November 17, at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, Sydney.

Congratulations, Heather, on a fantastic and well-deserved win!CBC logo
